Ambrosius looked around him.Uruks and humans were laying cold in the ground, together in the stillness of death.
He and his group had arrived in a small village in the gap of Rohan, exhausted from the long road, seeking food and some rest. And then they saw it.A group of about ten on twelve uruks had raid the village just a few hours earlier. The beasts were sitting in campfires, talking in their dark language, no doubt saying the abominable things they planned to do.Ambrosius knew that it would be difficult to battle them, but the unecessary slaughter arouse anger inside him.
He divided his men in two groups with infanty and archers combined. He with half of the men went round the village, waiting for the signal arrow of Lampfel, his second in command, to commence the attack.
A tall uruk that was standing, suddenly made a peculiar, loud sound and fell.He had one of Lampfel's arrows stuck deep inside his chest.Ambrosius charged with a war cry and delivered a side attack with his sword to an uruk in front of him.All his surpressed rage came in the surface and he became someone else.A red mist covered his eyes and he lost track of time and place.
Half an hour later, Ambrosius found himself sitting on the ground with a quite deep wound in his arm.The dwarven armguards protected his hand, but still he felt a choking agony coming down his left side.Despite the pain, he smiled. His men fought well. One of them died from blood loss shortly after the fight and three more were wounded, one of them badly, but they would be able to recover in a couple of days. They sent all the uruks in the fathomless pits of their hell.
He ordered both villgerss' and uruks' bodies to be burnt. It was a harsh solution and he had thought it much before deciding it, but it was the only thing they could do. They had not the time, nor the manpower to dig tombs for the dead and certainly they could not leave them to the crows. The warriors regrouped, gathered provisions from the village houses and after a short rest to regain their strength that dimminished from the battle, they hitted the road once more. A long journey awaited them...
